LAWS 809 Patent Law
This course covers patent law and some related doctrines. It is a federal statutory law course based on the U.S. Patent Act. The course coverage will expand upon that presented in the Intellectual Property Law course. Patentability and infringement issues are covered, with some time devoted to cutting edge patent law issues. The course does not require a technical (i.e., science or math) background, but many of the cases studied will involve technical facts, which may present an added challenge to those students who lack a technical foundation. Intellectual Property Law is a prerequisite for this course.
